WHAT ARE SILESTONE COUNTERTOPS MADE OF?
Silestone is a superior engineered stone, meticulously crafted from approximately 94% natural quartz and bonded with high-performance resins. This unique composition results in a remarkably resilient surface, unlike other quartz countertops. The high natural quartz content ensures exceptional durability and an almost completely non-porous finish, making Silestone worktops a top choice for any application.

Silestone Worktop FAQs
What is Silestone, and how does it differ from standard quartz?
Silestone is a premium, brand-name surface manufactured by Cosentino. While standard quartz worktops use traditional quartz and resin blends, modern Silestone is engineered with proprietary Hybriq+® technology. This blends premium natural minerals with a minimum of 20% recycled materials while drastically reducing crystalline silica content, offering superior sustainability without sacrificing durability or stain resistance.
What textures and finishes are available for Silestone worktops?
Silestone comes in three signature surface finishes, catering to both aesthetic preference and tactile feel:
- Polished: High-gloss, smooth surface with vivid color clarity and deep reflection.
- Suede: Soft, matte texture with a warm, velvety touch that hides fingerprints.
- Volcano: A subtly textured, rustic surface with a unique tactile depth.
What warranty comes with Silestone worktops fitted by Marble Supreme?
Silestone worktops come with a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty directly from Cosentino. To activate your coverage after installation, your worktop must be registered online within 6 months of purchase with your proof of purchase invoice.
How do I clean and maintain Silestone worktops?
Silestone is non-porous and resistant to spills, liquids, and everyday stains. For daily cleaning, use mild soap and warm water with a soft microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals like bleach, paint strippers, or highly alkaline cleaners. For stubborn marks on suede or textured finishes, non-abrasive cream cleaners like Cif can be used following Cosentino’s official care guidelines.
Can you put hot pans directly on Silestone worktops?
While Silestone has high heat resistance, placing hot pans, baking trays, or frying pans directly from the stove onto the surface can cause thermal shock and potential damage. Always use trivets, worktop savers, or heat mats to protect the surface.
How much do Silestone worktops cost in comparison to granite or quartz?
Silestone sits in the mid-to-high premium price range due to its patented Hybriq+ technology, color innovation, and 25-year manufacturer backing. Final pricing depends on slab thickness (12mm, 20mm, or 30mm), total square footage, edge profile details, and cutouts for sinks or hobs.
